It’s time for the Summer picnic on Saturday, August 9th. Thanks to Butch Schmaltz for hosting us as his guests at the Scranton Canoe Club at Lake Winola. The event will begin with a short drive leaving The Waverly Community House located at 1115 N Abington Rd, Waverly, PA 18471 at 11:00 with a drivers meeting at 10:45 and driving through some back roads passing through Lackawanna State Park, Lake Sheridan and Lake Carey then ending at the Canoe Club at about noon.
We will be ordering lunch from a limited grill menu with several different options and soft drinks available. The club is a BYOB for “not so soft drinks” and you are welcome to bring your favorite refreshments. The cost is $25.00 and needs to be paid through motorsportreg.com with your reservation. We will be seated in the outside pavilion overlooking the lake and the food is excellent.
We also enjoyed boat rides on the lake last year, and we look forward to that again this year.
