About this event
Established in 1967, Albuquerque Museum is a leading institution for art, history, and culture in the Southwest. Located in the heart of Old Town, at 2000 Mountain Road NW, the Museum is a division of the Department of Arts & Culture, City of Albuquerque. We have arranged for Roadrunner Region PCA to experience this fine community treasure with a docent led tour of the permanent collection at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 17. The cost to enter the museum is an amazingly low $4 per person, to be paid at the museum. If you have a North American Reciprocal Museum Membership, your entry is free. We will meet at the Museum Parking lot 9:30 AM. Bring your license plate number to the front desk for three hours of free parking. Tour will begin at 10:00 AM.
After the tour, you will have time to visit other parts of the Museum or check out the Museum’s well-curated gift shop. This is a great place to buy unique gifts for family, friends, and maybe even for yourself!
We will walk over to High Noon, 425 San Felipe St NW (about .2 miles) for lunch at noon. High Noon opened its doors in July of 1974. Originally constructed as a home sometime between 1750 and 1785, legend has it that this structure was both a gambling parlor and a brothel. Rumors are told that there may be ghosts from its colorful past. Many of us are familiar with High Noon’s consistently good New Mexican food. Lunch starters range from $9 green chile stew, with traditional favorites like enchiladas, burritos, burgers, and some good salads generally between $16-$30.
There is a $5/person fee for registering, which will pay for a room fee at High Noon, and administrative fees. Many restaurants are now charging room rental for large groups when they cannot accommodate them in the rest of the establishment. This one is a reasonable rate. We have been assured that we can get separate checks, with an automatic tip assessed.
